There is joy in letting go
I usually don't make posts like this, so I ask for your grace. I just need to share this! I have really been struggling for the past few months. Strug.A.Lin. I have been anxious, nervous, and sick over our plans. What are we suppose to be doing? Where are we suppose to be going? What are our motives behind these things? These thoughts have CONSUMED my being. I have been eating, sleeping, drinking, and dreaming plans. Plans HAD become a idol. Now grant it, I had good intentions, there is nothing more I want in this life than to walk on God's path. An elder in our church mentioned last night that when good things become god things they become bad things. That statement resonated in my being last night. I have not been trusting in God's plan for our lives. I should have picked up on this because the past couple of weeks I have been seeking counsel from Godly women and they all seemed to be telling me the same thing, "Megan, you are not trusting!"
So I say all that to say this, there is freedom, joy, and peace in surrending our plans to God; to trust ourselves fully to Him and what He has for us! I can honestly say that I have never been more excited about what is to come for Matthew and I....and I have no idea what that is!!! But, I am cool with whatever because I know my Father has already prepared the way for me! I would encourage you to let go of your plans, it feels awesome!
"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go." Psalm 32:8
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and He will make straight your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6
"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." Romans 12:2
