Valentine's
I love balloons on Valentine's day! Ever since I was a little girl my mom has bought me a balloon every Valentine's Day. She even sent me balloons this year for Valentine's!
Yesterday being my first Valentine's Day being married, I was not exactly sure what to expect. I had thought in my mind that this Valentine's would probably be a prediction for the Valentine's to come. Matthew was TOTALLY unaware of all the pressure that was on him! We had discussed our plans earlier in the week and decided to keep it pretty simple.
On Thursday we had gone to Sam's Club and picked up some Alaskan King Crab to have for the evening.
This was going to be our special treat for one another! I had looked forward to Saturday evening all week. Even though we had decided to keep it simple, I was definitely anticipating something special from Matthew (nothing big, just special). So Valentine's rolled around and here I was anticipating a surprise from my husband (this is an extremely dangerous day for men).
Matthew said nothing about this special day...all day! I was beginning to think he had forgotten or was sticking to his word on keeping it simple! Saturday evening arrives and here we are steaming our crab and boiling our corn and potatoes, when Matthew walks into the room carrying a HUGE balloon!! It was the coolest balloon ever...you know, one of the $10 ones! It had two elephants kissing and said "Love You Big Time"!
I started playing with this balloon like I had just won the lottery. This was the coolest Valentine ever! While playing with the string I realized he had really outdone himself!! He had gotten me a hot pink iPod shuffle and clipped it on the string! I was ecstatic!!
